BLISS

waiting for my manicure ^.^

Having the girl in red stilettos  around is kinda nice.  After a year or so of not stepping into a salon, I suddenly found myself being pampered at Bliss <--- it's this salon beside blue gre in landco.

Yammy has a way of tugging you around in places you'd usually ignore...in my case, the salon.  I have my own "mani and pedi girl" who visits me twice a month.  And growing up with a mother who used to own a salon means I have only to visit my mom and harass her  for my needed grooming. Hehe parang aso ^.^

As a woman, I like being pampered.  And when we were ushered to the area where we will have my nails done, I saw MY couch and fell in love with it. HAAAY. You bet I stayed there for hours. hehe.

It's nice to feel beautiful.  I noticed that the world seemed brighter if we think less cruelly of ourselves.  I did not mean boast.  I meant being happy.  Life seems to be less unfair and less difficult if we feel good about ourselves.  That's how I felt.

My nails are clean and painted in bitchy red.  Sigh. Being vain sometimes can help boost one's confidence...to much can push one to be crazy <-- i told myself while smiling for no apparent reason at all.

Don't mind yammy. look at the couch! hehe ^.^

Smart Presscon

Before the concert of Itchyworm with
Luningning, Jopay, and Princess Ryan, Smart,
a major sponsor of GenSan's Tuna Festival held a
press conference around one pm. Davao Bloggers and
Socksargen Bloggers were there to ask a few questions
regarding their show later and SMART's promo mechanics
and prizes that they would be giving away at the concert.

Avel Manansala did a livestream of the presscon.

After the official presscon, it was Socksargen Bloggers' time
to be in the limelight ^.^

A part of my Tuna Festival experience.  General Santos, as Ria and Brendel would say is their happy place.  Now I know why ^.^  People are warm and friendly and food is fantastic!  It was so much fun and I was so lucky to be part of it.  Smart Presscon was held at the same building where we had our great  Mongolian BBQ ^.^

During the Presscon, it seems as if the stars had this notion that this part of Mindanao is in disarray.  That it is not peaceful nor does it have the potential of progress.  Much to their surprise, General Santos is not only peaceful and warm, but abundant, generous, and so much fun!

The presscon ended with them saying, they would be back in the Tuna City again.

Make up Trip with Davao Bloggers

Ria a.k.a. Diyosa Blogger
Brendel of getprettified.com and Ria of Shopchicks.com

Other Bloggers who attended the Fashion Blogger Meet
in TLCShop Fab Finds Store in Nova Tierra
Brendel showing how to use the BB Cream
First Make up Trip organized by Davao Bloggers for Fashion Bloggers in Davao.  Our destination, Davao Tlcshop Fab Finds Store in Nova Tierra Subdivision.  This small shop offers genuine make up, branded bags, Signature Scents and more in jaw dropping prizes...what's the catch...you have to find it in the Nova Tierra Maze =P

We had free samples of BB Cream.  Brendel said that originally, BB cream was introduced by  cosmetics companies from Korea.  So the best BB cream available can only be from them.  It is like a liquid foundation but it meshes better.  It doesn't cake and it doesn't run when you perspire.  It has a misty effect that if you put it on, it looks as if you are not wearing any at all!  Except that blemishes and discoloration are not visible anymore.

I chose Misha BB Cream and because I am tan, I was advised to get the No. 23.

We also get to try different shades of lip tints and we bombarded Brendel questions about what is best for our skin tone in terms of blushes and make up bases.  We sniffed scents and ogled at Marc Jacobs Signature bags being sold at affordable prices.

Definitely a great kikay bonding for all female bloggers ^.^

PALAMANTASAN sponsored by Cheez Whiz

student listening in the program
PALAMANTASAN ng Sarap school eliminations was held in Buhangin Elementary School last August 17, 1:00pm.  As prompted, around eleven, I swerved my truck to Marco Polo, illegally parked in front of Miami Foods and trudged my sweaty self to the hotel for the meet up.  The lounge a/c is a blessing for my fats were sizzling in the heat.

Valentines and such

wicked 2009 valentine

I've never been a big fan of Valentines and the cooing and wooing that comes with it.  I don't like going out because it's happy hearts day, the horizontal extravagance that comes with the celebration is almost always too much to bear.  Roses and other flowers' prices are way beyond reason and chocolates and cakes have suddenly become too special for normal prices when in fact, all they added was a heart and card.  The marketing scheme happening is making my head pound... but logically speaking -- not because of Valentines, but becuase of what happens when its Valentines.

Do you notice how ceilings are flocked with paper hearts in red sprinkled with gold glitters and stitched with ribbons on the side? I mean can we not make something new?!!!!! is Valentine's officially that corny???!!!!

May I suggest another way of celebrating Valentines?

like flocking all single ladies and single men together for a dating game ---- NO COUPLES ALLOWED! oooohhh!

A mixer party for single men and women.  Ohhh...If something like this happens next year... it would be fun...Maybe I'll do one like this next year... no couples allowed...a LOVAPALOOZA of single men and women, mixing to find a partner to kiss at midnight! oh yeah... perfect. An Outdoor party with crazy lights, funky music and free glitters to put on the body to indicate you've been on to this party.

With a team of make up artists and hair stylists to pretty you up before we gush you to the dancefloor... the main statement is : NOBODY is allowed to be ugly tonight...

Either u come beautiful or we force beauty on you hahaha!

Anyways, we kinda sorta partied with some friends at Felis last 14.  The band, NOMANCAN, is great. A three-man-band of different nationalites.  The drummer is Filipino, The Bass is American, and the Lead and Vocals is German...

Imagine my amusement when the German Lead sang Bamboo's "Pinoy Ako" -- And he did a very good rendition, if I may add -- but  the irony of having to hear someone foreign sing that song to an almost perfection is just giving me goosebumps.  I couldn't help but laugh at the thought of it... I used to hear  my old neighbors trying to sing that song... the Filipino Blood in them is not helping hahaha!

See more photos in Flickr but mugshots of Lovers are available in our photoblog.

Mindanao Bloggers' Christmas Party

This is long overdue -- to people who celebrate christmas....I don't, my religion forbids me to do so -- and so the urgency of gift giving during the season is something i don't feel.

I give gifts when I feel like it...but christmas, with malls packed, with people scratching eachother's eyes out, clawing their way to finding the perfect gift was never a motivation for me... I like to find cool stuff to give and live to see the wrapper being torn...

Which reminds me, the phrase madness sale is just apt during the christmas season. Regardless of the sliding
economy, rising tuition fees and gasoline prices, inconsistent church statements, ridiculuos spyware invasions and virus attacks, unaffordable phone gadgets... people just go crazy when they see the red tag with a blazing 50% off marked on it.

No wonder everybody's broke and ugly after... after spending sleepless nights of budgeting the bonuses and the salaries, you finally found the balance of buying everything  and being on the fringes of being a rat after...and because you're not the only one eyeing that item in the store, you wake up early and you elbow ur way in to fight for that oh so very nice dress that everybody's seems to want...with local versions of teleserye kontrabidas in the fringes waiting for achance to step up, raise an eyebrow, do a half circle turn and snatch it leaving your nose flared and your eyes watery while you suffer heartburn because you forgot to take your breakfast...

haha! wawa naman...
nah, those stuff don't happen anymore, I think. The scenario is more like this, you go to the store, look for the dress...

oh my gosh...it's not there anymore! but ...but...

you go to the saleslady, inquire about it...
The saleslady shakes her head,
"hurot na siguro ma'am"...
You turn around...
you see a girl grinning...
you hear the one at the counter saying hi, you look back, just becuase you are nosy...
and suddenly you see everything in slo-o-o-o-o-w motion... as your eyes, wide in disbelief, follow the cashier's finger punching and then wrapping the dress you want...
oh yes, the amiga reserved it for her. haha! sa maliba lang.

Backers are needed everywhere these days...even when shopping...
sheesh.

Anyways, Mindanao Bloggers celebrated the Christmas Fever at World Palace..The party is great but the venue's service got a double negative. With the assumption that everybody's drunk, the waiter must have been shocked to be interogated by people who never run out of opinions and things to say, who can be sarcastic and who will definitely get even because of hidden charges they were forced to pay... haha!

It was fun seeing old friends and meeting new faces. It's been while since i've been with fellow bloggers here in Davao. The last time I was with the bunch was at Kangaroo to drink the coffee harvested from the civet's poopoo... hehe. yum!

As usual, I'm late win arriving. Saw Papa Dominic at the hall first, he showed me the right door (egypt must have been too hot as they moved down to someone else's garden room), entered with people staring at the latecomer (yours truly). Blogie was groping for something to say i guess, coz he asked me the first question he asked me when i first exchanged email with him..."relative mo si..." heheh...  =P

Saw Doc Charles at the back...waved and came to proceed to sit with him and the gang.  err...actually booted him out of the couch...Kuya Lyle was funny... met nurse in cyberspace (nope...walang siyang phone hotline =P)... Being the camwhore that i am, I then proceeded to take my cam and harassed everyone with it.

Ai tama... gi ugom pud day nako ang mic. hahaha!

Bloggers Party 2008

davao bloggers party was a blast!

happenin'? bloggers party 2008
orgaized by? Blogie, Andrew, Ria, Migs
venue? Toto’s Bar in Casa Leticia
what's the craze all about? something to do with the fast mouse

for those who've heard of it but decided not to come just missed one heck of a party - not to mention the intersting discussions (before, during, and after the party). NO, nobody got wasted or anything, heck, nobody could even if they wanted to --- coffee was overflowing , more than enough to keep you sober, even if liquor was served as the main dish.

But who would want to pass out while everybody was busy having a good time?

The core group who organized the event were warm and friendly. The party was actually an intimate one -- just the right number, big enough to be called a party, small enough to remember the names and faces you encounter...

Personally, my evening started with a bang --err -- with a flash rather... I almost ran for my life --- for when the elevator door opened, i was greeted with this sudden flash -- which made me scampered for dear life...except that i was trapped between the elevator and the small receiving area of the bar...thank god, it was not the aliens, although for a moment there, in my state of confusion, i saw the two culprits as yoda's childhood friends (friends of yoda, are you?)...only bigger....although, now that im thinking about i, i freakin wish that i don't look like an alien in the pic.... although there is a slim chance of me resembling a human being, as I was startled and wide eyed with fright and confusion, something the photographer (kinsa gani to? doc charles kaw ba toh? yatis ka) must have been eagerly waiting for , anxiously waiting for the elevator door to open just so he could blind the next blogger with his flash -- a victim for his camera -- and there i was, the perfect target...nose flared and all, malasa oi, kabalos lang ko...

when my vision returned, i was already being pushed towards the door (o cge na nga, di ako pinilit, inalalayan lang) - although i rememeber them, brimming with pride, saying something about their super advanced techie creation. (see pictures below hehe!)

burag naglutaw noh?

halata ba na bond paper?

forgive the crude photos, hese are celfon pics...promise, next time, i'll remember to bring a cam...kabalo lagi ko mukuha og picture (aim and click ra ma na...nyeheheh)... for the meantine, mangita sa pud kog ma-grab na waffo na pics...so far wa pa koy nakit-an ^.^
